pitch at a Seattle Mariners baseball game.
Ashley
Aven
is 18 years old and is the family member of a local Scouting family that
have been strong supporters of our drum group. Ashley is fighting Acute
Myeloid
Leukemia (AML).
She has been through 3 rounds of chemotherapy and it has not gone well.
When a family member feels pain then it is felt throughout the extended
Scouting family.
In July
of 2009 our Chapter's drum team dedicated the first songs on a new drum
to this brave young woman. We have continued to dedicate songs to her
well being.
On
January 9, 2010, the members of our drum team had the opportunity to actually
meet and perform for Ashley. She was briefly in southern California on a
trip from the Make A Wish Foundation. It was
incredibly inspirational for
everyone that got to meet her that day.
A
special bank account has been set up through Wells Fargo Bank to help
the family financially since both of her parents are staying home to
spend precious moments with their daughter. Donations can be made at any
Wells Fargo branch to the Ashley K.
Aven Foundation. Even if you can't contribute financially, please
remember that prayer is one of the most powerful tools known. More
information can be found by downloading a flyer from the link directly
below.
