2012 OA
Unit
Elections
OA Unit election team members, please click on the
"Election Teams" tab on the left to see information specifically
for election teams.
The Purpose of the Order of the Arrow is fourfold:
-
To recognize
those Scout campers who best exemplify the Scout Oath and
Law in their daily lives
-
To develop and
maintain camping traditions and spirit
-
To promote Scout
camping
-
To crystallize
the Scout habit of helpfulness into a life purpose of
leadership in cheerful service to others
Every year from January to March, OA Unit Election Teams visit
Scout Troops and Varsity Teams throughout the District to honor
those Scouts that have best lived up to, and exemplified,
the Scout Oath and Law. Each Election Team conducts an election
so that a Scout Unit can recognize, and honor, those qualified
Scouts. It is considered an honor just to be nominated for
membership in Scouting's National Honor Society, the Order of
the Arrow.
For
the 2012 election season, we will be having Election Teams
visiting Scouting Units throughout the District. On the
navigation tab to the left you will find
FAQ's (frequently
asked questions), training material for Election Teams, a calendar
of elections for every Unit in the District, youth election forms for Election Teams,
election packets and adult nomination forms for Scout Masters.
On
the Unit Election Calendar page you will find which Troops or
Teams we have an election scheduled for so far. If you do not
see a date listed for your Unit then please
contact
us so that we can get an election scheduled for you.
Scout Masters please note:
Adult nomination forms and election packets specifically for
Troops and Teams can be found on the
Scout
Masters page. Also, on the
column to the left is a link to a submission form where Scout
Masters can submit names of eligible youth (20 years of
age and under) for the elections.
